The town

What Mijas is like.

Mijas Pueblo is the white village on the mountainside above Fuengirola, with the views the coach trips come for and a quieter life than the coast once they have gone home. Below it the municipality spreads down to the golf valley and across to Las Lagunas, the working town that joins onto Fuengirola, where many people actually live.

Buying in Mijas usually means a view. Homes on the hillside look over Fuengirola and the sea, and the same money buys more space than it does on the seafront ten minutes below. A car helps, though Fuengirola and its train are a short drive.

Where to look in Mijas

  • Mijas Pueblo

Village houses, townhouses and apartments with the big views. Quiet once the day trippers leave.

  • Mijas Golf and the valley

Apartment communities and villas around the two Mijas courses, between the village and the coast.

  • Campo Mijas and El Coto

Hillside urbanisations of villas and townhouses with sea views, a few minutes above Fuengirola.

  • Las Lagunas

The urban part next to Fuengirola: apartments at town prices with the shops and the train close by.
